An outstanding contemporary addition to the Viennese landscape, Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom was designed by world-renowned French architect Jean Nouvel. The edifice celebrates light and reflection, playing with relationships between interior and exterior. Sleek façades of white, black, and grey offer a preview of the likewise monochrome guest rooms. To complement this purist esthetic, Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist has created bright, multi-colored video-animated ceilings, and French landscape architect Patrick Blanc has planted a magnificent vertical garden, a “living” wall covered with 20,000 species of vegetation.
Echoing the hotel’s sleek exteriors, the 182 monochromatic guest rooms, including 26 suites, are decorated in either immaculate white, cool grey or velvety black. Deftly conceived, all rooms present not only a spectacular view, but also a peaceful haven for business and relaxation: high speed internet access, Nespresso Coffee Machine, Bose Wave music system with iPod docking station, complimentary minibar filled with soft drinks and mineral water, Hermes bodytreatment products, floor heating, LCD flatscreen TVs and complimentary WiFi internet access in the whole hotel.
Crowning the Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom is its ultimate feature, Le LOFT Restaurant, Bar & Lounge on the 18th floor, walled in only by glass.
